Man Hair Highlights
Hair highlight is not just for woman anymore. Many men are using hair color to change their look as well. Subtle hair highlights for man are very trendy now. Ask your hairstylist for tone on tone color that will enhance your hair color without being too obvious. For those who want to add some color to their style here is how to get hair highlights for men.

Tips on Having Men’s Hair Highlighted at Salon
- Find pictures of hair highlights for man that you like in magazines. Subtle highlights can be hard to detect so if you see man’s hair that you like the color of keep those aside as well.
- Be sure to tell your haitstylist about your hairlighting plan when making your appointment. Also, if you are still unclear on what type or color of highlights you want, you should ask for leave extra time in the appointment for a consultation. Stylists work best when they’re not in a hurry, so make sure plenty of time is given for your visit.
- Do not put hair products in your hair for your appointment. Most stylists like to do hair highlights on dry hair. If this isn’t possible you may have to have your hair washed and dried before the process can begin.
- Consult with your stylist on your highlighting options at your appointment. Make it clear to the stylist that if you’re looking for a subtle effect or if you want your hair highlights to be more noticeable.
- Discuss placement of the hair highlights before the process begins. Make sure you want to start out with only a few subtle highlights in the front of your hair or have them placed all over to blend in with your natural color.
- It never hurts to know what colors are being used on your hair so that you can either try to do the highlights at home or if you ever change salons or stylists.
- The true effect of your hair highlight only can be seen when your hair is dry. Have a good look at them and make sure they’re what you wanted. If they are too light they can be darkened with a toner (a slightly darker color rinsed through the hair).
- Take good care of your new hair highlights after it is done. Using a shampoo and conditioner for colored hair. Also, avoid prolonged exposure to the sun which will bleach out and change the color of your highlights.

Hair Highlight Tips
African Hair Highlights
Asian Hair Highlights
For highlights on Asian hair, it really depends on the shade of black. For example, if you're East Asian, your hair probably doesn't have any visible undertones that you can work with, so highlights would only work if you want a really dramatic look. It won't look natural. Basically, if you want it to look natural, then you can't do blonde or red, but if you're a student or something where you can go with any funky hairstyle, then bright red or blonde or even copper can look really cool, since black hair will offer the biggest contrast to that. There are a lot of kits out there now that says specifically that they'll work on black hair.
